So, in the College of Business, the great majority of your classes will be small to medium-sized. You will know your faculty both in and outside the classroom and get real mentoring for you and your career. My favorite thing about the College of Business is the different events that we put on for the students. So, this looks like donuts with the dean, Cocktoberfest, and Crawfish Boil. It all gives us a chance to interact with our different faculty and professors and also join together as a college. The College of Business is just a fun college to be in.
Networking with our peers and our professors is a great opportunity for all of us to connect, but also the employers that come to our own lobby to help us with our resumes and our cover letters is a great way to network, too. So, one of the things that I've had the chance to be involved in here at Louisiana Tech has been the MBA Concurrent program. This is something that's helped me out a ton as far as applying collegiate concepts into the real world. It allows you to basically do almost a dual enrollment masters program while you're doing your undergrad classes, which is going to allow me not only to graduate early, but also to advance my career.
What I like most about my major is how versatile it is. Within the College of Business curriculum, we're able to touch bases on every single major before we do our major specific classes. You can start a business and compete for actual funding in the new venture championship. You can earn Bloomberg certifications or a data analytics certificate that industry desperately wants. So, one of the ways that the College of Business really capitalizes on our education is not only having all these classes where we're learning all these complex concepts, but also plugging us into the real world.
And one of the ways that they do that is through the student management investment fund. The student management investment fund allows students to trade real money within the College of Business. And you're getting graded on this. You get to work in different projects, groups, and again, you're getting to learn how the market works, what are ways that we can capitalize in the market, and how can we make money for other people. Getting the hands-on experience with internships, being involved, and also a personal branding class, I knew that Louisiana Tech would be the place for me. So, no matter what flavor of experiences most interest you, you will be well prepared for whatever the world throws at you.
